(chapter 27) FREEDOM!!

I couldn´t believe my eyes, but then that was not all, behind her, two other people followed, also being escorted by the police, I recognised one of them. You have to be kidding me right now! This is insane. What what the hell was he doing here too?

It was just minutes after when a police officer came over to Justin´s cell and mine to to let us go.
"You are free."
"Why?..I mean how?...Aaaam thank you."
"Thank you sir." Justin said calmly.

I just wanted to get out of there but I wanted to know what Chris, Dina and the other guy I didn´t recognise were doing at the police station.
"I´m very sorry for the inconviniences if any were caused."
"No no no...no need to apologise. So you found the culprits right!" Justin answered, still calm and cool.
"Yeah, thank you for the tape that the cameraman provided Mr. Bieber, it was very helpful, that is how we caught the "smugglers", those who placed the marijuana in the party place."

I looked confused, "Was it the people that were just brought in?"
"Yes, and it´s quiet surprising, because that was the same girl that called us to report that there was the marijuana where you were. And when we went to her house after watching the tape...."
"The tape? Could we alos take a look at it?"
"Yeah, sure, this way."
Justin and I followed behind the officer as he led the way to a computer room, he continued to speak as he fixed the tape for us to watch, "After watching the tape, we stormed to her house and we found her and her friends in the process of hiding the marijuana.

I couldn´t believe what I was hearing, but then before I could say something, the tape was already starting and there was Dina, when it was zoomed in, you could see her placing a red paper on the ground at the corner near the door and then got up to leave.
"She later on called and told us exactly where the marijuana was. That was when we went over to her house." The officer remarked after the tape was done.

My mind couldn´t deal with all that information. I was mad at Dina. How dare she ruin my birthday with some silly, stupid act! I wanted to just go and punch her in the face! She had ruined my whole night and I wasn´t going to forgive her anytime soon. Escorted by the police officer, Justin and I went to the waiting area to my parents and Kenny was there to pick Justin up.
"I´m very sorry for what I said earlier on son, it was very selfish and rude of me." My mom said to Justin as she approached to give him a hug.

I just stood there suprised by this sudden dramatic change of heart from my mom.
Kenny came over to hug me too, "I´m sorry your Sweet 16 turned out like this, I wish I could have made it better."
"It´s not your fault. But thanks for the concern."

As we were about to walk out, news from the TV hanging on the wall froze us in our paths and had us glued to the screen in silence....

(chapter 26 ) AT THE STATION!!

“So are you ready to confess?”

“Cameraman…..!”

They just stared at me in confusion.

“What did you say?”

I looked at them and repeated, “Ask Justin about the cameraman, I think he might have caught something while recording.”

They looked stunned, one of them left the room while the other remained.

I couldn´t stop smiling, but my heart was still beating so fast, all that was going through my head was that I wanted to go home.

“So are you ready to confess?”

“Cameraman…..!”

“What did you say?”

I looked at them and repeated, “Ask Justin about the cameraman, I think he might have caught something while recording.”

They looked stunned, one of them left the room while the other remained

I couldn´t stop smiling, but my heart was still beating so fast, all that was going through my head was that I wanted to go home.

“I will lead you  to your detention room until further notice…”

“Detention room?....Why?...I..”

“You are still a suspect, you will get to see your parents before that but you will have to wait in there for them to pay the bail money.”

And with that, I was escorted out of the room and to the waiting section to meet my parents who were anxiously waiting for me. The officer explained what was going on.

My mom was the first to answer with tears in her eyes, “We don´t have that kind of money sir.”

“Then I´m deeply sorry but then you will have to stay here until we are done with our investigation. She is one of the suspects you know.”

I didn´t want to watch my parents, especially my mom cry.

“Mom, I´ll be fine.”

“Fine! Fine!.....You are in a police station, this is not fine. And furthermore, we can´t afford to bail you out. I knew we shouldn´t have trusted that Justin kid……He looked like trouble!”

At the same time, Justin was also escorted by and he heard what my mom had to say.

“Mom! You can´t talk like that, it´s not fair. You raised me well and you of all people should know that I would never possess something like marijuana!”

“I raised you well……..well, nobody ever thought you would run away from home, but you did…..so what does that tell us……should we even trust you?!”

I was both embarrassed and angry, I was boiling with disappointment and dislike. I slowly turned back to the officer that was standing by me, “Take me to the detention room, I don´t want to be here anymore, I don´t think I want to go home either, maybe I won´t mind spending a week here if I could.”

There was no response, it was just awkward silence. Justin was now ahead of me, I screamed back, “maybe I´ll run away again, and this time you will never find me again!”

Justin´s room was right next to mine, we were just separated by the bars.

“I´m so sorry you had to go through this on your birthday.”

“It´s not your fault and I´m very sorry for what my mom said back there…...” I said, still a bit angry.

“It´s no big deal, I know she was pissed off, my mom does the same thing too sometimes when she is upset.”

“She does?”

“yeah, but it´s very seldom, she gives me my own space to make mistakes and learn from them, I mean, I´m growing every day and I will make mistakes right!”

“Yeah.” It was silent for a while, “Did one of the officers ask you to contact the cameraman?”

“Oh yeah they did…and I called my lawyer too but I wonder what they could possibly get from the cameraman.”

We were in the midst of talking when someone passed by with cuff on and with two police officers by the side. On taking a closer look I thought I was going dreaming. Justin and I looked at each other, What was she doing here?

(Chapter 25 ) RAID!!

"Everyone lie down on the floor!"

And everyone immediately did. My heart was beating so fast aI thought it was going to explode, what the hell was happening?

"Rockline Star!"

I tried raising my hand from the floor. The next thing I knew was that someone was pulling me up.

"Excuse me sir, what is happening?" I heard Justin intervene.

"We received a call that there was marijuana possession in here."

"What? No sir, you must be mistaken."

"Mr. Bieber, let us be the judge of that..." The officer continued.

"I think I found something here."

And with that, the man lifted his hand and in it was a bag. Everyone watched as he opened it and sniffed inside.

"It´s definitely marijuana." And he closed the bag

"That is not mine."

"Excuse me sir but I´m the one who organized all this and I can promise you isn´t hers neither is it mine."

"Am sorry but both of you are coming with us to the station."

"Could I call my lawyer?"

"You can do that at the station."

"This is crazy, it wasn´t theirs." Crystal tried to step in.

"Ma´am, please step back and stop interfering."

"Rocky, I´ll call your parents and they´ll meet you at the station."

I didn´t get the chance to answer back because we were already being escorteed us out of The French Palace. Of course the papparazzi guys were still outside and this was definitely going to make headlines. I heard someone ask what was happening and one of the officers, I´m guessing the leader stopped to answer.

"We found marijuana in their possession and we are taking them to the station for questioning."

Both Justin and I got into the police car. It all felt like a dream and that I would wake up and all this would be gone, but it didn´t. I thought my life was officially over. My birthday party was amazing and everyone was having fun and this happens! The marijuana wasn´t even mine.

"This is crazy, I can´t believe this..." I said, tears almost running down my cheeks.

"This is just a huge mistake and misunderstanding....." Justin tried to comfort me but it wasn´t working. I tried to avoid the window because the paparazzi flashes were too much they were blinding my eyes.

"Duck down to avoid them. Put your head down until we are go."

And we both did until the police car was on its way to the station.

We were immediately directed to a room, I had seen some detective movies and investigation TV series and I was aware of what was going to happen, or so I thought. Two officers were with me in the room. I´m not sure for how long sitting in the interrogation room but my back hurt from sitting down for too long. They kept asking me the same questions and the only answer they got was that I had no clue on what they were talking about. I was tired and about to burst into tears. I just wanted to go home.

"What are you going to do with Justin?"

"He is also going to be investigated."

"This is all just crazy, all I wanted to do today was have a great time at my sweet 16 andI was having a great time but where do I end up....here...in a police station, I never thought I would ever land in this place.....ever..." I was so pissed off.

"Are my parents here?"

"Yes, they at the waiting section."

"I want to see her."

"Later on, we have to finish our interrogation first ma´am."

I just kept quiet, I had nothing to say anymore. The two officers just stood there staring at me and waiting for me to break and tell them what they want to here, and that was that I was the owner of marijuana. One of them answered his phone but his response was just "okey" and "I understand" and as he put his phone back in his pocket, he cracked a smile.

"Your so called friend Justin Bieber just confessed that it was your marijuana."

I looked stunned at them, I so pissed off. How dare Justin claim such a thing.....but then I remembered what I saw in the movies, it was the same tactics they were using on me, they were trying to get me to turn against Justin, it wasn´t going to work. I knew that call was fake, it was just to shake me up abit but I was determined to keep a poker face.

"We are going to leave you in here to think..."

"Think about what?..."

"Whether you are going to tell us the truth or not.."

"Oh MY Gosh, I had told you for the past maybe three hours or so that I know nothing about how that marijuana got in the party and I don´t know anyone who uses it."  

The two officers were about to walk out when a suddenly, a genius thought struck me! I stood up from the chair I was sitting on. Why hadn´t I thought about that before? 

"Wait, wait, I´ve got something...."

They looked at me and walked back to where I was....

(chapter 24) PARTY ALL NIGHT!!

I watched her disappear out of sight and into the outside. I couldn´t help thinking of the look on her face. I walked over to where I saw her bend but there was nothing there so I calmed down.

"Are you okey?"

Justin asked behind my back

"Yeah, I´m fine."

“Aren´t you enjoying the party”

“Of course I am, it´s off the hook.  Everything is amazing.”

“Do you want to go dance?”

“Why not?”

And with that said, we headed to the dance floor where my schoolmates were to have some fun. People were just complimenting me and how fantastic the party was. I was overwhelmed with joy. I hadn´t noticed the guy sitting at a corner on a really high stool directing the camera.

“Who is that and why is he filming? I thought the paparazzi guys were not allowed in here.”

“No.. no..no, he isn´t the paparazzi. I hired a friend of mine to record your birthday, I forgot to tell you that.”

I was actually impressed. I was going to have my sweet 16 on film, how crazy and awesome is that, I thought to myself.

“No, no…..It´s cool.”

I didn´t even notice he was gone and the next time I hear from him, he was on the stage.

“I would like to get everyone´s attention please.”

Dj Tay James lowered the volume for Justin to speak.

“I bet by now….” He looked at his watch, “….most of you might be hungry, I mean it´s about 10. If you want, there is free buffet in the dining hall so eat and drink as much as you want and I hope you are having a great time.”

There were shouts and claps. Those who were tired and hungry made their way to the dining hall while the rest continued to party. None of us was hungry yet so we stack around and talked. The three of us has the chance to go talk to some of the people from my school, of course the girls were going crazy about Justin, even those who called him names, I mean who wouldn´t and they were taking pics, just like on the meet and greets after Justin´s concerts and they left the V.I.P sections in tears, of happiness so one of his bodyguards was walking behind him for safety reasons. 

It was about eleven thirty and most people had come back, it was late and some had gone back home. 

"Yo! Did you like the food?"

"Yes!" Was the response Justin got back from the crowd.

"Great. Uhm....Crystal wanted to present something for you Rocky."

I looked astonished as Crystal made her way to the stage and took the microphone.

"This.." pointing at the screen behind her, "..This isn´t going to be fancy or sophisticated like all this", she was speaking about the party, "but it´s from my heart. I was going to show it to you when we get home but plans changed and I´m more than happy to do it here."

"Aaaaaw...." was the response from the crowd.

"Just so you know, there are going to be some embarrassing pictures in there so sorry for that."

And from the screen, pictures of me and Crystal since we were young came on and I started tearing up. It was about five minutes long and at the end, when people were clapping and cheering, I ran up to the stage. I hugged her.

"I loved it, thanks so much Crystal."

"You are so very welcomed my darling."

Everyone was having so much fun, I had never been to such a party before and it felt amazing! Justin was talking to people and taking pics and you could just see the excitement in everyone´s mood. My sweet 16 was going to be the talk of the year, it will be on people´s lips and it will be in our small community´s history. I felt like a queen.

"Okey, it´s time for the present, where´s the birthday girl?

I raised my hand and walked to the stage.

"Are you ready to see your present Rocky?"

"Present? I thought this was the deal."

"Are you kidding me? This was just a small party."

As Dj Tay James was about to spin the table and get the party people jumping even more as we headed outside, another louder noise interrupted us.

"Everyone stand where you are and don´t you dare move!" 

We all immediately just froze, nobody dared to flinched, we all just stared at the door. What the hell is going on? 

(Chapter 23) PARTY!!

The whole room was filled with amazing clothes and sitting there waiting for us were Justin´s stylists and makeup artists. Crytsal was super excited, she adored Justin´s stylists too and greeted them with honor but for me, it was more of the "it was long since I saw you" greeting. I mean, I met them at the "Beauty And A Beat" music video shooting but we didn´t get the chance to tale that much.

"We have been waiting for you guys."
"Sorry for keeping you waiting for so long. We had to check this place out, it´s just amazing."
"True dat! I didn´t expect this kind of sofistication from a small community like yours." One of the stylists commented.
"Thank you. We are full of surprises you know." Crystal answered.

The other one smiled, "If we have time, maybe both of you could show us what surprises your lovely community has to offer."
"We could do that! Right Crystal!"
"Of course, anytime."

"Well, then before we make further plans, let´s try out the clothes and get ready for the party that is  in one hour."
"One hour! Well time flew by fast."
"It tends to do that when you are having the time of your life."
"You are going to look fabulous when they are done with you Rocky." Justin said as he headed for the door. "I´ll be back soon, just going to make sure everything is in order."
And with that, he was gone........

"So let´s get started."
"What about Crystal?"
"Don´t worry about me, we have to focus alittle bit more on you because you are the star of the night. You are the birthday girl remember!"

I don´t remember how much time it took because we were all just talking, laughing and having a great time but what I remember is that the hair stylist turned my chair round and I almost burst into tears but I didn´t want to ruin my mascara. I had never looked that pretty before and I was overwhelmed with emotions. There was no more I could say than "Thank You". Crystal couldn´t stop complimating me and for once, it felt really good. She was next in line as I was guided to the dressing room to get into my evening gown because the party was almost starting.

As I came close the the backdoor of the room the party was being hosted, Crystal and I could hear the loud music, we couldn´t wait to get inside. We hadn´t seen how it looked like and curiosity was getting the better part of us, me especially. We got in the door and Justin was sitting there waiting for us. On seeing us, he stood up, his face lightened up. He gave us hugs.
"Wow! You look stunning!"
I was blushing,"Thank you Justin." I replied first and then Crystal too.
"Shall we go and have fun now."
"Yes please, we´ve been waiting the whole evening."
"Then this way my ladies." He gestured that we should pass and walk infront of him.
"Hold up, I would love to introduce you guys and then you come up on stage, is that okey?"
"Of course, go do your thing."

And with that, he ran to the stage where Dj Tay James was mixing the music up and took the microphone, blew twice to get people´s attention and for the music to be lowered.
"How´s everyone doing?"
Screams and shouts were all that could be heard. Justin continued, "I hope you are having fun and it´s time to bring up the birthday girl Rocky and her BFF Crystal."
He gestured that we walk up to the stage and we did.

There were cheers, whistles and claps as we stood there in front of everyone.
"Does the Birthday girl have anything to say?"
"Uuh......Let the party continue......" I raised my hands to add more effect and more cheers is what I got as reply.

The music was put back on and the party mood was in the air again. I glanced over at the entrance and I saw the bodyguards by the door welcome someone in, it was Dina. She looked around, went to the corner next to the door, bent down and came back up. It was really wierd that she showed up and it all felt very uncomfortable. She didn´t stay long because approximately five minutes after her arrival, she came by the V.I.P section, greeted Justin, ignoring Crystal and I.

As she made her way to the door, she turned and said, "I hope you have a happy birthday Rocky, it will be something to remember......" she had that cruel cold expression on her face and I had seen that face before, something wasn´t right.......
